Santalum spicatum oil is steam distilled from the heartwood of the tree.  It has a rich, woody aroma which promotes tranquility, and has been reported to have anti-inflammatory, fungicidal and bactericidal properties.  This oil is not the same as the Indian variety.  Itl blends well with bergamot, cedarwood, cypress, juniper berry, patchouli, pine, rose, vetiver and ylang ylang.  Currently this is a vulnerable species in South Australia, with calls to do the same in WA.  For this reason we recommend you use this oil sparingly.
