Nardostachys jatamansi is a tender, aromatic herb with a pungent rhizomatous.  It has a sweet smell with green, caramel, pea-like, leathery but earthy undertones.  Spikenard is very calming, both physically and emotionally and is indicated for anxiety, stress, and deep sadness.  It is a powerful oil for grounding and emotional needs.  It is also a powerful anti-fungal and is of special value for treating serious skin conditions.  Spikenard blends well with lavender, patchouli, pine and vetiver.  Avoid using this oil if pregnant or breastfeeding.
