Tagetes minuta is also known as Peruvian mint marigold, black mint and stinking Roger.  It belongs to the same family as marigold but is not the same as Calendula (if you are after Calendula infused carrier oil we can prepare this for you).

Tagetes essential oil is obtained from the flowers of the herb using steam distillation.  It has an unusual herbaceous, minty, fruity aroma and blends well with citrus, floral and woody scented oils.  Common applications include wound healing, corn, callous & bunion treatment, parasitic infections and resistant fungal skin infections.  It may also be used in the treatment of chest infections to dilate bronchi This oil can cause skin irritation and phototoxicity in concentrations greater than 0.01%.  Use this sparingly in blends so that it does not overpower the other components.
