Vetiveria zizanioides essential oil has warming, sensuous, comforting, supporting, grounding and relaxing properties.  It has aromatic, antimicrobial, antispasmodic, carminative, and analgesic properties.  The volatile, thick oil has a sweet, woody, caramel and smoky aroma.  Vetiver essential oil may be applied diluted to the skin to promote good circulation, and treat oily skin and acne.  When inhaled it is indicated for relaxation, depression and insomnia.  Vetiver is useful as a moth and insect repellent. It is also used to treat circulatory problems, nerve problems, stress, joint and muscle pain and insomnia.  Vetiver should not be taken during pregnancy or when lactating.  Try using it as a substitute for Sandalwood in some of your blends.
