Aniba rosaeodora essential oil has a soft, floral aroma.  It is indicated for all respiratory infections, and may be inhaled for depression, debility, overwork and the mucous glands.  The oil has a sedative effect, acting as a relaxant to reduce anxiety and fatigue.  It may be used neat on pimples and sores, and may also be used as an antiseptic.

Rosewood oil was traditionally over harvested in the South American rainforests, resulting in the Rosewood tree being listed as endangered.  The damage to the environment was realised so now days instead of harvesting entire trees to obtain the wood from the oil, the oil is now produced from harvesting the leaves to obtain the oil in a sustainable manner.
