Acacia dealbata is an attractive small tree with fragrant flowers, and is native to Australia. Mimosa absolute oil is solvent extracted from the fresh flowers and is diluted to 50% using perfumer's alcohol. If it was left as 100% it would be a solid, thus making it difficult to use in perfumes or essential oil blends. The fragrance of Mimosa is so strong, the dilution does not take away its value as a fragrance. It helps to make it less overpowering.
Mimosa is a base note that has a honey, citrus, floral, soft and powdery scent with woody undertones. It is warming and relaxing andl is indicated for old memories and stress. Used externally it is suitable for skin problems caused by stress. When used by inhalation it may be used for nervous tension, sensitivity and anxiety.
Mimosa blends well with Bergamot, Cedarwood, Citronella, Clary Sage, Jasmine and Lavender.
It is recommended to dilute Mimosa Absolute to 5% or less before topical application. A little bit goes a long way.
