Cymbopogon flexuosus is a popular essential oil  that has a sweet, fresh, grassy aroma.  It is an important fragrance ingredient in cosmetics and perfumery. With anti-inflammatory properties, lemongrass oil may be used to ease rheumatic pains.  It may also be applied externally to massage out cellulite, and to tone all of the tissues.  Lemongrass also makes an excellent insect repellent. It blends well with bergamot, chamomile, ginger, lavender, rosemary, thyme and vetiver. 

Skin application of lemongrass essential oil should be avoided if you have high blood pressure.  It is not suitable for babies or infants.
