Citrus aurantifolia is extracted via cold expression of the fruit peel.  Lime oil has a sharp, refreshing, uplifting, citrusy scent that blends well with any of the citrus essences, clary sage, lavender, rosemary and ylang ylang. Lime has extensive use in the body care industry, particularly in a lot of men's fragrances.  It is also indicated for headaches, stress related disorders and oily skin.

Lime oil obtained by expression may cause phototoxic skin irritation when applied dermally, and if the skin is then exposed to strong sun rays. To minimise degradation due to oxidation, it is recommended that lime essential oil is stored in a dark air-tight container, and kept refrigerated at 2-8degC.
